tuesday night i went to see my chums who are in this little group called yacht throw a party at santos for their new record album see mystery lights.

see mystery lights is steeped in the mystique of marfa, tx, which is where i got to know these kids. on one magical night this lovely praying mantis of a lady called sandra permitted me use of her garage for an art show. yacht turned up with their friend, the coolest rich jensen, and we took turns reading in front of some psychedelic projections:

at some point, the art show moved inside for disco dancing and then some strangers showed up (which is unusual for a city of 2,121) and started lighting trees on fire in the front lawn. this was just about the time that the teetotalers started drinking and the non-smokers started smoking.

yacht now cover rich's classic voodoo city, so if you get the chance to see them perform live don't miss it. these kids are becoming quite the performance artists, replete with autodidactic, robotic riot voguing and bleach blonde red lippie annie lennox realness. not to mention audiovisual induction into their love cult.

when i was leaving santos, a lovely lady asked to be chaperoned to a rumored secret matt and kim show at the delancey. her name is larkin grimm and she is a smart and amazing musician who will be throwing a weekend dyke music extravaganza in september at santos. can't wait.

when we arrived at the delancey, the music was finished (which was probably for the best), so we got inspired on the roof where there was a bbq and an uproariously entertaining group of lesbians holding down fort at the snapshot party.

the night wasn't really over though until i went to the bodega for some candy.
